Ashtamudi's eight arms
Overview
About Kollam
Kollam marks the southern gateway of Kerala's backwater highway. Ashtamudi Lake — named for its eight arms — spreads across nearly 30 square kilometres. The Kollam–Alleppey backwater journey is one of the longest houseboat routes in Kerala and passes through remote villages, cashew plantations, and quiet lagoons rarely visited by tourists.
